Patented StarSense Sky Recognition Technology

StarSense Explorer uses patented technology and your smartphone to determine exactly where the telescope is pointed in the night sky. A Lost in Space Algorithm (LISA), like the ones satellites use in orbit to correctly orient themselves, helps the app match star patterns it detects overhead to its internal database.

While other astronomy apps may claim that they can help you find objects, they rely exclusively on the phone’s gyros and accelerometers, which aren’t as accurate as LISA technology. No other app can accurately tell you when your target is visible in the eyepiece.

The Advanced VX (AVX) sets a standard in mid-level telescopes, providing many of the features found on Celestron’s most sophisticated German equatorial mounts at an extremely affordable price. The Advanced VX 9.25” Schmidt Cassegrain telescope is ideal for imagers and visual observers. The 9.25” optical tube offers 33% more light gathering ability than an 8” telescope. The Schmidt-Cassegrain design also eliminates chromatic aberration, making it a good choice for entry-level astroimaging. Computerized German equatorial mount

The Advanced VX is the smallest of Celestron’s German equatorial mounts. The computerized GoTo capability automatically tracks objects as they move across the night sky. The Advanced VX mount includes ports for a hand control, an autoguider, and 2 AUX ports for optional accessories.  The NexStar+ hand control gives you instant access to all the functions your mount has to offer. With automatic slewing and menu descriptions, any level of astronomer can master this mount in just a few observing sessions. The Advanced VX also has an impressive tripod for its class with a 2” diameter steel tripod legs providing an extra-wide stance for improved stability.

Payload capacity
The payload capacity for the Advanced VX is 30 lb. It offers a sturdy platform for any of the Advanced VX optical tubes, even when paired with optional accessories like StarSense AutoAlign, Focus Motor, a finderscope, and a camera. Celestron's payload capacity does not include the weight of the counterweights. 

Dual saddle plate
As of early 2019, Advanced VX mounts include a dual saddle plate that accommodates both CG-5 and CGE-style dovetail. Switching between the two saddle plates is as simple as moving the hand knobs into a separate set of holes. You can use an Advanced VX mount with virtually any optical tube within its weight limit. Compatible with Vixen format dovetails 100mm or longer, not compatible with Losmandy D format plates (regardless of plate manufacturer).

the KonuSpot-100 20-60x100 Spotting Scope by Konus is suited to long-range observation and digiscoping applications—from capturing elusive bird species to sweeping views of the ocean.

Its 20-60x zoom range brings distant objects into sharp focus, and the combination of a 100mm objective lens and anti-reflection multi-coatings provides effective light transmission that boosts its low-light capability from the first light of pre-dawn through to the last light of late dusk. Accessories include a 20mm and 10mm eyepiece, a finderscope, and a motor drive. The two eyepieces offer different magnifications for low and high powered views.  The 20mm has a built-in erect image corrector.
Motor Drive -Turn your manual German equatorial mount into a tracking mount by adding the included RA motor drive to your telescope. This easy-to-install RA motor drive compensates for the Earth’s rotation, so the telescope tracks a star’s movement through the night sky from east to west.  When the telescope mount is properly polar aligned and the RA drive is attached and running, the user need only make occasional adjustments in declination (Dec) to keep an object in the eyepiece for long periods of time.  The Celestron single-axis motor drive runs on a 9V battery, so there are no cords to get in the way.  The drive can be used in either the Northern or Southern Hemisphere.  To change hemispheres (reverse the motor’s direction), simply by flip the N/S switch on the face of the motor drive.  It is also simple to change the speed of the motor.  A “Speed Rate Regulator” knob is located just under the power indicator and can be turned in either direction to slow down or speed up the motor.  Since solar system objects like the Moon and planets move through the sky at different rates than deep-sky objects do, this gives you the ability to match the motor’s speed to the particular type of object you are observing.
